LaToya Portis

LaToya Portis is the Project Manager for the Preparedness Program at the Emergency Services Training Institute (ESTI), a division of the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) within the Texas A&M University System. Ms. Portis has 10 years of experience managing multifaceted projects from inception to completion. Serving as a project manager on a wide range of complex contracts for emergency response training totaling more that 10M+.

Ms. Portis has supported all aspects of planning, exercise and training activities for the program and has managed the logistics and overall contract support for 100+ training courses, exercises and technical assistance projects. She routinely coordinates with Subject Matter Experts in the development, design and delivery of new training and exercise initiatives. As well as the updating and revision of required exercise and course documents.

During her time at TEEX, Ms. Portis has coordinated with stateside and internationally located clients to develop master training schedules and work plans allowing for efficiency in training and exercise delivery and minimized wasted resources and effort. She has served as a liaison between organizations and national certification departments ensuring compliance with National Professional Qualifications Standards (NPQS) guidelines and TEEX Standard Administrative Procedures.
